The University has proven its worth as an academic institution that offers high-quality education and conducts cutting-edge scientific research. The ranking scale reflects the university's performance, which places it among Russia's top 20 medical schools.

The university was founded by the Russian Federation government. The Russian Federation's Ministry of Health is responsible for the Founder's powers and competencies. The Federal Education and Science Supervision Agency has accredited the university.

Voronezh N.N. Burdenko State Medical University comprises six faculties, four institutes, and one research institute.

The Faculty of General Medicine is the oldest and largest at the University. The Faculty provides a six-year medical education curriculum that leads to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

Since September 2023, the Faculty has offered an undergraduate degree program in clinical psychology.

The overall number of pupils is over 3050.

The Faculty of Pediatrics offers medical education in areas of healthcare such as neonatal, infant, child, and adolescent care.

The Institute of Dentistry provides a popular undergraduate degree course in dentistry.

The Institute is one of the few educational institutions in Russia that has its own dental clinic, where students can practice under the supervision of qualified specialists.

The Faculty of Preventive Medicine teaches future hygienists and epidemiologists. Graduates can work as senior specialists at the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, disinfection and anti-plague stations, labs, and sanitary services.

The Faculty of Pharmacy has been educating students in pharmaceutical sciences for over two decades. The Faculty prepares students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills for careers in modern pharmacy and pharmaceutical research.

The Faculty of Postgraduate Training offers postgraduate training (residency) in 47 medical specialties.

The International Institute of Medical Education and Cooperation trains international students. 8% of the university's students are from more than 50 nations.

The Institute of Nursing provides a wide range of occupational secondary school programs, including nursing, orthopedic dentistry, and pharmacy.
